Soy milk is considered unsuitable for histamine intolerance. Soy generally acts as a liberator (releaser) of its own histamine in the body, and milk itself also contains a high amount of biogenic amines. The histamine content therefore does not only vary according to the processing method or the manufacturer, but this whole food is already risky in its basic, unfermented state, while any subsequent fermentation (e.g. in soy yogurts or sauces) significantly worsens the situation.
