Homemade Oat Milk
Homemade oat milk is a great and usually very well-tolerated option for people with histamine intolerance, provided it is prepared from basic, fresh ingredients. Ready-made milk does not contain any harmful preservatives, stabilizers, or added oils, which are often problematic in store-bought varieties. However, it must be stored in the refrigerator and ideally consumed within 2 to 3 days, as the lack of preservatives means it spoils faster, leading to a gradual increase in histamine content.

A little for sweetening
Method
- 1
Step 1
To make it, simply blend fine oat flakes with cold water in a ratio of approximately 1:10, a pinch of salt, and optionally a little maple syrup or date syrup for sweetness. It is crucial to blend the mixture only briefly (approx. 30–45 seconds) to prevent the milk from becoming bitter or developing a slimy consistency.

Step 2
Next, strain the liquid through a fine cloth or nut milk bag without squeezing too hard.
