Most people with histamine intolerance tolerate this food well.

St. John's wort is generally considered a low-histamine herb. It does not contain significant amounts of histamine or other biogenic amines and is not known to be a DAO enzyme inhibitor. On the contrary, thanks to the flavonoid content of quercetin, it can have a slightly stabilizing effect on mast cells, which makes it an ideal substitute for more irritating spices or flavorings (e.g. industrial broths).
