Caution

May cause symptoms in more sensitive people. Track your own reaction.

Lupin flour is made from seeds of lupin, a legume. Evidence about its tolerance in histamine intolerance is limited, so this rating is provisional. A laboratory study detected histamine and other biogenic amines in flour from two lupin species. Its findings cannot automatically be applied to every product. Lupin can cause allergic reactions, including in some people with peanut allergy. Food allergy is distinct from histamine intolerance. Rice or buckwheat flour may work in baking depending on the recipe, although the dough may behave differently.
